I was thinking maybe the gals who had to go through breast cancer chemo ought to wear "chemo babushkas" to make some sort of statement about how it's 2016 and anyone would have thought medical science would by now have researched better treatments with less extreme secondary reactions and a greater guarantee of everyone kicking cancer's butt. Small world isn't it since I was going through Paclitaxel chemo for breast cancer at the Tom Baker as well. However, I appreciate your response. I really want to make it clear that all my interactions at Tom Baker the past three years have been positive. I would never want to label all of you under the same umbrella, however I felt I had to write this because I really hope she doesn't do this to anyone else. You, on the other hand, are an amazing nurse and I may track you down next time they have issues getting an IV!! Thank you for understanding:)The Life I Didn't Expecthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12107885670720187160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9071323577655005981.post-28544755997463083572014-09-20T13:21:11.626-07:002014-09-20T13:21:11.626-07:00Thanks Beth. I'm not sure how else she could have seen only two complications in over a decade of nursing. Give me a break! I'm so sorry you had to have a shitty experience (pardon my French). Thank you for reminding me it's the little things that make a difference to patients. If she had taken less than 2 minutes to understand why you didn't want a port, it might have made a world of difference. Cancer has stolen control over so many things, not having a port is something you can control. <br />ps I'm so glad to be one of your nursing peeps :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12068197936181653001noreply@blogger.com
